For more background information on MIDMA, please download our Strategic Direction (Adobe PDF - 146K ) document.

MIDMA has established a voice for project funding through its efforts to negotiate with funding agencies. Facilitating access to funding and advocating for industry representation have been and continue to be on the list of the association`s priorities.

Future plans include providing our members with an industry listing, showcase opportunities, industry news, and member-only access to MIDMA information and workshops.

Networking

Networking requires an investment of time and energy to create a wider circle of contacts. Networking begins in our comfort zones: our neighborhoods, our offices, our special interest groups. But to be effective, we have to search for other opportunities to meet individuals and groups beyond our usual contacts.

Through MIDMA-sponsored networking events, you will have the opportunity to participate in special projects, committees, and activities. Networking assistance, technical guidance, and support from fellow MIDMA members will be available. You will have the opportunity to build friendships that may result in professional advancement. Remember, your purpose in networking is not to meet everyone in the room, but to connect with two or three other individuals that have the same interests, goals, and priorities.

Training

MIDMA will be sponsoring classes, workshops, seminars, and industry-related learning opportunities in content, production, business, and entrepreneurship.

Access to funding

The Manitoba Interactive Media Fund, Film/Video Labour Tax Credit are two local funding programs that can assist you in getting your project off the ground. MIDMA can help you apply for these and other funding programs.

Project Assistance

Do you need help in writing your proposals? Do you need technical assistance or legal advice? Does your project need to find the right skills to complement your existing team? MIDMA will offer a comprehensive listing of members' skills and resumes and company information in our Membership Directory.

Collaborations and Partnerships

Is collaboration with other companies an important issue that businesses should consider? Through MIDMA you can search for an active member or company that can help your business or organization become more effective and more competitive in a global marketplace.

Special Events

MIDMA members will receive discounted admission to MIDMA-sponsored events including competitions, meetings, and showcases. Also included will be sponsored discounts on hardware, software, conferences, financial services, legal services, public relations and marketing, research, education and training.
